In this months issue (no 97) of Digital Photo I came across a tutorial showing how to make a Pinhole camera style image. As the image they were using was very similar to a shot I took I thought I'd give it a go !!
Lindsey and I came across this tunnel known as the Serpentine Tunnel whilst walking around the grounds of Fountains Abbey. I wasn't too sure if it would work, but by shooting in RAW format it shows how much detail came reclaimed by varying the amount of exposure.
I've been concentrating on monochrome photography for the past couple of years even though I have been interested in photography since my teenage years. I've now moved over from traditional wet photography to digital, and enjoy the freedom it gives.
Gone are the nights of setting up a darkroom up in the bathroom and messing with all the nasty chemical, I can now produce better images on my laptop sat in front of the fire !!
I've come to the conclusion that taking a good photograph is is complicated enough without having the extra variant of colour.
When I can take a good photograph taking tonal range, composition, shapes and textures into account, then I might move over to colour imaging again, until then !!
