The Singing Ringing Tree is part of a series of sculptures being installed in Eastern Lancashire that forms part of the Panopticon. The sculpture is sited on top of the moor above Burnley, a wild and windy place. The hollow tubes are tuned and slots cut into them. In a similar way to how a flute works, as the wind blows across the slot the tube produce a note depending upon it's length.
