This is my first attempt at RAW photography. I've taken one image, and produced a JPEG of the sky and one of the Minster and merged the two together.
UPDATE I've be privileged to have this image selected for entry into an Open Exhibition at Astley Hall Chorley. The exhibition is running from from the 6th of April until the 10th of June. More information regarding the exhibition can be found here.
Detail view of the hand of the statue of the Emperor Constantine that stands beside the south entrance to York Minster, near the spot he was first proclaimed emperor of Rome.
I've been concentrating on monochrome photography for the past couple of years even though I have been interested in photography since my teenage years. I've now moved over from traditional wet photography to digital, and enjoy the freedom it gives.
Gone are the nights of setting up a darkroom up in the bathroom and messing with all the nasty chemical, I can now produce better images on my laptop sat in front of the fire !!
I've come to the conclusion that taking a good photograph is is complicated enough without having the extra variant of colour.
When I can take a good photograph taking tonal range, composition, shapes and textures into account, then I might move over to colour imaging again, until then !!
